Using the Database

The database is searchable by host institution name and program location. Programs can be filtered by specialty. Programs that did not list participating specialties are marked as "Not Specified." These programs generally refer students to the school's course catalog for elective offerings.

The AAMC defines underrepresented in medicine (URM) as "those racial and ethnic populations that are underrepresented in the medical profession relative to their numbers in the general population" but each program in the database sets its own eligibility criteria. Those that include funding for sexual and gender minorities can be filtered using the "LGBTQ+" tag.

Stipend amounts will vary.

Know of a program not included? Send us the details on the new submission page. Alert us to any errors or broken links using the contact page.

If you found this resource helpful or believe in my mission of making these funding opportunities accessible to URM medical students, please consider contributing financially. Your support will help cover the time it takes to maintain the database and the cost of hosting the domain and licensing the database software.
